When you have an iPhone your whole world revolves around your handset. You have your email, your calendar, your social media, entertainment, contacts and more all stored on your iPhone. Therefore, you want to make sure you look after your iPhone, to ensure it will have a good long life, and always reliably be there for you when you need it. You can ensure your iPhone will last longer and remain in top condition by following these tips.

1 – Car safety

Your iPhone will always be with you when you’re in the car, and there are some precautions you need to take to ensure it remains safe and in a good condition:

Extreme temperatures. Your iPhone can experience extreme hot and cold temperatures if you leave it in your car. Temperatures of over 1000F and under 400F can degrade the performance of the battery. If you find that your iPhone is overheating, turn it off for several hours, but if your phone is emitting heat even when it’s off there could be a serious problem and you need to take it back to Apple or your provider right away.

Car chargers. Car chargers should not be used as a primary means of charging your iPhone as the 12 volt electrical system used in your car is designed to run the headlights and the interior controls and was never designed as a phone charger. As a result you can experience a power surge in your car because you have overloaded the small capacity system and this can fry the main board of your iPhone. If you do have to use a car charger, don’t have your iPhone plugged in when you turn your car on or off, also only use Apple approved car charger products as they will use to your iPhone better.

Risk of theft. Not only will leaving your iPhone in your car expose it to extreme temperatures, you will also expose it to the risk of theft as you’ve probably left your phone somewhere in full view.

2 – Moisture

You should already know that no mobile phone likes water or moisture, so try and keep your iPhone away from high moisture areas. This means don’t leave it in the bathroom, near swimming pools or in other high humidity areas as it only takes a small amount of moisture to do damage to your iPhone.

If your iPhone is exposed to moisture you can try and dry it out by removing the back casing and the battery as soon as possible. To help absorb the moisture, submerge your iPhone in a container of uncooked rice, seal the container and leave it overnight. If you don’t have any rice, leave the phone to air dry for a day before using it again.

3 – Memory

iPhones have an amazing memory capacity in being able to store your favourite songs, movies, images and files. However, be aware of how you are treating the memory of your iPhone because it’s not unlimited. If you find that your apps are crashing or your web pages are freezing it could be a problem with your phone’s memory. Therefore, make sure you don’t load up your iPhone to capacity, instead leave at least half a gig of memory free to handle any spikes in memory use.

At the same time take note of these crashes because if the same app keeps crashing it could be a problem with the app, and if Safari has a continual problem loading a page, that page could be too big. For easier web surfing on your iPhone look for the mobile version of a web page. Remember that your iPhone is really a mini computer and if you restart your iPhone this will help ease the burden on the phone’s memory.

4 – Battery

The battery is the life blood of your iPhone and you need to take good care of it to ensure your iPhone lasts a long time. You can look after your battery by:

Sync your chip. If you find that your iPhone doesn’t fully charge when it is plugged in, it could be that the chip on the battery and the chip on the iPhone which measure the charge flowing back and forth are out of sync. To fix this run your iPhone battery completely flat and then charge it fully up before running it right down to flat again. This should help sync the chips, and should be done every month or two.

Battery indicator. You may also find that the battery indicator is showing a false reading, showing that your battery is flat when it’s not. To correct the indicator run your iPhone completely flat before recharging it and after doing this several times the indicator should reset.

Not overcharging. Make sure you remove your iPhone from the charger once it is fully charged, or turn your phone off while it is charging. When you over charge your iPhone you can cause it to overheat.

5 – Protection

Because your iPhone is with you all the time, it can see a few hard knocks in the course of a day, and these can all add up to damaging your handset. Therefore, to protect and preserve your iPhone for optimal performance take the following precautions:

Cracks around the dock. Many iPhones experience cracks around the dock connector and headphone jack, as this is where the plastic of the screen is the thinnest. Apple are aware of the flaw and will replace your handset if it happens. However, to avoid cracks and scratches on your iPhone screen use a hard case and a thin skin protector over the screen. While the iPhone is scratch resistant it will still come in contact with keys, coins and more in your pocket or bag.

Replace your protection. The transparent skin protectors for your screen can stop your iPhone from getting scratched, but make sure you replace them every few months for optimal protection.

What where you put your iPhone. With everything at your fingertips on your iPhone, it will often be in your hand, but when you need two hands for something you are likely to set down your phone wherever you can. This leads to your phone being placed on the ground or on the roof of your car, and then forgetting where you’ve put it. Also don’t let your iPhone float loosely in your bag, instead keep it in a separate pocket.

Clean out your speakers. At the bottom of your iPhone handset there is a speaker and a microphone which can experience problems over time. If you find you can’t hear your callers or they can’t hear you, you may need to clean out your speakers. You can do this with some strong rubbing alcohol on an old toothbrush, and using a can of compressed air to clear out the speakers. Make sure you don’t use too much alcohol as you don’t want any moisture to enter your iPhone.

The iPhone is a series of best selling smart phones licensed with AT&T. Created by Apple, the iPhone continues the line of innovative Apple products such as the iPod mp3 player. The iPhone has become famous for its application system, a marketplace of downloadable applications that give the iPhone unlimited functionality. Since 2007, there have been four models of the iPhone with a new phone released each year.

The Original iPhone

The original iPhone was created as a hybrid between cellular phone and PDA technology, utilizing new designs such as a touchscreen interface. The glass touchscreen was unique for its multi-touch functionality. The user could touch multiple points on the screen for additional functions (such as zooming). The keyboard and mouse controls were incorporated entirely into the touch interface, similar to a tablet PC. Internet access was provided through the EDGE network. The original iPhone was released with a 4GB and 8GB model, with a 16GB model released later.

The iPhone 3G

The iPhone 3G was the second generation of iPhone, released in July 2008. The iPhone 3G came with much of the same hardware as the original iPhone, but had an increase in software functionality. The major introduction for the iPhone 3G was the Apple App Store. The App Store allowed users to purchase and download applications, small programs which added additional functions to the phone. This became a trademark of the iPhone brand that has continued to this day. The iPhone 3G was also the first iPhone built to use the 3G wireless network for internet access – the original used only the slower EDGE network.

The iPhone 3GS

The iPhone 3GS, released in June 2009, was created with a focus on hardware improvements. The display screen for the phone was updated to use a greater number of pixels and have a richer color display. The processor and memory were upgraded for the first time since the original iPhone, allowing for faster speeds and better performance of applications. A new camera was also added, allowing 3 megapixel photos and video capture in high definition. The iPhone 3GS also included a compass application, using a built in magnetometer.

The iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 is the latest model of iPhone, released in June 2010. The aesthetics of the phone were the focus with an all-new steel frame and glass display. The phone is thinner than previous models – the exterior antenna in the steel housing gives the phone a smaller profile than older iPhones. The iPhone 4 also received a hardware upgrade with a new processor and double the memory of the iPhone 3GS. It also uses a forward mounted video camera (in addition to the rear HD camera) to allow for video conferencing.

It’s not cheap or easy to develop an iPhone app and so the apps which make it onto iTunes have made it through a rigorous screening process, and are there because their makers have seen a need, a niche and an opportunity to help their fellow iPhone users. However, with so many great apps available, it can be hard to track down the ones you really need, which is why the following is a list of the most useful personal finance apps you can use on your iPhone.

iReconcile

The iReconcile app will help you to manage your personal finances with a budget tracker toll which can give you an overall picture of your situation, as well as let you break down your finances to a yearly, monthly, weekly or daily budget. You can also use tools such as the check register, reporting options, as well as backup and sync all of your details.

When you set up the app you can choose from the categories and sub categories you want to include so that you have access to all of the information you need. There is also an automatic roll over feature where the remaining funds from one month’s budget are automatically rolled over into the next month.

Expenditure

Expenditure lets you effortlessly budget and track your finances with simple ways to add new transactions which include adding a photo or a quick note, making your iPhone budget fully customised. There is also a built in currency converter with an extensive list of currencies loaded.

MoneyBook

The MoneyBook app makes it easy to enter new transactions as well as add notes and specify a category. You can also export your finances, as well as password protect sensitive parts of the app. While MoneyBook doesn’t include any graphing or charting options, there is a free cloud backup service so that even if you lose your iPhone, you can access your stored transactions outside of your device.

Toshl

Toshl has free built in online synchronisation services where you can take advantage of cloud technology in the palm of your hand. Every piece of information in the Toshl app is synchronised to cloud automatically whenever you make a change or add a new transaction. You can also set a manual sync option if you want to maintain control.

The Toshl app has a well designed interface as well as additional features such as family budget, and the ability to export to Excel, PDF or Google Docs.

Mint

Mint is a comprehensive personal finance app which automatically updates your spending and transactions without you needing to input any information, as Mint connects directly to all of your bank accounts. The Mint connection is secure, and allows you to see all of your account balances in one place, while the app automatically categorises your transactions.

You can also track your checking account, your savings account and your retirement fund in one place, and see an overview of your spending habits. you’ll also receive notifications when a bill is almost due, when you are approaching your spending limit and if there are any suspicious transactions on your account.

Bloomberg LP

The Bloomberg app is a free download, and gives you access to information about stock investments so that you can track a stock before you buy it, or track the performance of your portfolio. You will be able to view share prices, a 52 week summary chart, volume and news related to the stocks you are watching, all in the palm of your hand.

Balance

Balance lets you keep a track of all of your bank accounts in one place, and every time you make a withdrawal or receive a deposit, your iPhone app automatically recalculates your account balances so you always know how much money you have available.

Spend Lite

Spend Lite allows you to set five weekly budgets for anything you spend your money on, for example, food, entertainment, family, savings and so on. Then, when you spend anything you enter it into your app, and your budgets are updated so you know how much you have left to spend for each category.

Tripometer Mileage Log

If you are on the road a lot for your work, you will find a big part of your personal finance routine is recording the miles you drive. Therefore, use the Tripometer app to track each trip in your car, and enter where you went, who you met and which client needs to be billed for the fuel. You’ll then have a detailed record to easily work from when it comes time to invoice. You can also save favourite destinations or pull out a destination or a starting point from information in your iPhone address book. Plus, you can export all of your trip information into your chosen spreadsheet application and email it directly to the boss.

Bill4Time Mobile

If you are a contractor, freelancer or small business owner then your personal finances are often managed closely with your business finances and so you could benefit from the Bill4Time app which lets you track your spend on a project. You can record your time spent and the travel hours spend, as well as record expenses and notes on the job. You can also schedule tasks which are then converted into completed time entries as a record of your work.

Alban works as a freelance personal finance writer and a huge fan of Iphone app. Alban is amazed by the fact that you can now compare home loans on your phone while commuting to work.

Today’s world is now almost totally dependent on technologies. There has been a rapid advance of technology in the recent years and the iPhone is one such product of the rapidly growing world of technology. The iPhones are an internet and multimedia enabled Smartphone which are mainly marketed by Apple. The very first iPhone got unveiled by Apple on January 9, 2007 and it was released in the market on June 29, 2007.

What are iPhones?

The iPhones as said above are internet and multimedia enabled Smartphones which can equally work as a cell phone and video camera. The user interface of this phone is built in with the touch application and it also includes a virtual keyboard. Most of the iPhone applications are meant for the newest iPhone 3G model and are also supposed to work with the recent versions of iPod Touch. For that purpose, you will be requires to have an active iTunes Store account and then you may be able to download free applications and even the purchased applications into your iPhone.

How can you find useful iPhone applications?

In order to find the applications for your iPhone cell you can:

The Apple website has included some useful applications for targeted visitors, like applications for cooking, for students, and so on. You will be able to get other such applications if you browse Apple staff’s favorite Applications in “App Staff Picks” at Apple’s website.

You can also get the applications from your friends. The best part about this is that you are not even required to ask about all these from your friends. There’s an application for this too – “Chorus” that uses the social networking approach in order to let you and your friends share the cool applications.

There are also some web based services that provide for customized applications recommendation known as the “apptizr”. It provides you the personalized recommendation of the top applications from the application store based on your likes and dislikes.

There are also websites like the AppStoreHQ which does the search for you. The AppStoreHQ too uses the social networking approach like the “Chorus” in order to find the best and most suitable mobile applications for you.

You can also do some random research on the iPhone applications in the Internet in order to get some interesting ones.

Lately there have been many rumors about the iPhone 5 and while it’s hard to know what to believe the following concept is something we liked and I think you deserve to see it.

The mockup above was recently publish and incorporated the rumors of repositioning the flash, implementing a larger screen, and of course the widgets implementation of solving the problems with signal loss. I like how he made this concept and I think this is one of the best mockup for an iPhone 4 with a 3.7-inch screen (this is actually the original screen).

Of all the changes above I believe the repositioned flash will be the only rumor found in the iPhone that will be launched this year. The image above though shows what could be possible in the future.

Also, let me talk about the interview with Digital AllThings, where Stephane Richard (CEO of France Telecom) left to assume that the next iPhone will be small and thin. In our opinion this would be for the best. So, we have to wait a bit a bit longer to see if the rumors are getting closer to the truth.
